Lavissh Inn & Suites

The room was fine, the service was great, and I really appreciated being able to store my luggage. Ryanne (?) was wonderful. I’d have rated the stay much higher if guests could check in early when a room is ready. I’ve been allowed into my room early at about a dozen hotels I’ve asked, but Lavish Inn charges a fee for early access. That feels greedy and unfriendly to customers. I understand a fee for late checkout, since it delays cleaning and preparing the room for the next guest. But if someone arrives early and a room is already ready, they should be allowed to use it without paying extra.

The staff were pleasant at check-in and checkout, and the carpet and paint looked newer. The rest of the room made that refresh feel superficial. The fixtures were old, and there were cigarette burns on the side of the plastic tub. The hallway was dark and creepy, and the elevator was very small. Both pillows on my queen bed had someone else's hair on them. The curtains wouldn't fully close, the heater was very noisy, and the door lock seemed questionable.

Everything else was wonderful, but breakfast could have been better. I’m restoring an RV and need new flooring. I like the carpet tile in the rooms, so I’d love to know what it’s called or where management got it. Thanks.

I arrived at 9 PM with my three-year-old Golden Retriever on his first long trip away from home. He'd been nervous and sick on the way. The hotel disclosed a $25 pet fee. I covered at least a third of the small room's floor with a blanket, but he had a couple more small accidents overnight. At 6:30 AM I went across the street to Fred Meyer and bought $25 worth of cleaning supplies. I did a good job cleaning the sturdy commercial flooring, which had no padding. When I checked out, I explained what had happened and said I’d be happy to pay extra if they found any issues. Two days later, I checked my card online and found a $350 hotel charge. They hadn’t called me as I’d requested, which would have been courteous and professional. I emailed the owner/manager, who said I’d signed paperwork stating the minimum damage charge was $350. I did not sign or receive any paperwork saying that, and she didn’t send me anything to prove it. In my opinion, it was pure highway robbery. I’ve filed a complaint with the Visa vendor for an unauthorized charge and will file a Small Claims action as well. Be careful to get the paperwork here.
