The beds were comfortable, and I liked having a nearly full-size fridge and a decent kitchenette. Breakfast was available, but the waffles were the usual, the sausage was badly dried out, and the eggs seemed past their best. We also found two dead crickets in the room, including one plainly visible in the bathroom. The bigger problem was the water. Hot water came out of the cold faucet, cooled for a full ten minutes, then climbed back to scalding. That’s dangerous, especially for kids. I reported the issues to the front desk right after check-in and again at checkout. When I mentioned the smoking on the second floor, nobody looked surprised. Room 222 had overflowing ashtrays full of cigarette butts, despite the claim that the facility is non-smoking. If you want a smoke-free stay, go somewhere else. How has only one other review mentioned the hot water? I have doubts about whether the other reviews are valid.

For the price, it was a good stay, and the off-season rate and amenities were great. I was in suite 334 over Thanksgiving. It looked huge and impressive at first, but some finishing details were missed. The toilet was loose and ran very loudly, and the outside railings and light fixtures weren’t clean. Getting hot water took around 30 minutes before it was even somewhat warm. That’s no exaggeration. Maybe we were far from the supply. I also couldn’t work out how to cast my Android phone to the TV, and I’m tech savvy. At this rate I was okay with the stay, but I’d have been unhappy if I’d paid more, especially with that water delay.

The hotel is dog-friendly for $40 a night, and the soundproofing is decent. You can hear dogs in the hallway, but inside the room it’s quiet. Staff are pleasant and courteous, and prices are very reasonable if you book early. It’s about a ten-minute drive to Cape Henlopen State Park, and I really like this area. This was my second stay. The hotel was renovated in February 2025, so everything feels nearly new. The room was very clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, a dining table, and a full kitchen: regular-size fridge, microwave, two-burner stove, pots and pans, dishwasher, and a sink with garbage disposal. There’s an outdoor pool open in summer and a guest laundry room with four washers and five dryers. The complimentary breakfast is very good.

We had no complaints at all. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the kitchenette made it much easier to prepare our own meals, especially for a longer stay. The front desk staff were welcoming, and the breakfast area was nice. In summer, you can sit on the patio. There’s also an outdoor pool, which looked nice though we didn’t use it, and many rooms have a balcony or small patio. We were here the last week of August, and it was probably the best hotel we’ve stayed at. It’s easy to reach, with restaurants and attractions nearby, around ten minutes from Lewes beach and fifteen from Rehoboth beach. We had neighbors on both sides and barely heard anything through the walls. If you want to be near the beaches without spending a fortune, it’s a good option, especially for larger families or stays longer than a weekend. The larger rooms and kitchenettes make a difference.
