The cheesecakes were phenomenal, generously sized, and reasonably priced, though the menu didn’t list a price. Drinks were good, and the food arrived quickly once we finally ordered. My meal was alright, but a few people in my party didn’t like what they chose. We went for Sunday brunch and service was extremely slow. Of the two hours we were there, about one hour was spent waiting for the waitress to show up, come back to our table about an entree issue, bring the takeout items, and deliver the bill. She was nice, though. There was no changing station for children in the restroom, and the 4% credit card fee added more than $3 for me. It may be legal, but it left a bad impression, especially with the cost and tip already adding up. I went in with high expectations, but the restaurant experience was a 3/5 and fell a little flat. I might try it once more later to see if anything changes.

The flatbreads were so good I nearly forgot I’d saved room for cheesecake. And the slices were huge, not tiny half-price portions. There were about 10 flavors to choose from, I think, even though I’d expected only one or two. The orange dreamcicle and chocolate cherry were both amazing. We went with friends tonight and had a fantastic dining experience. Monday means half off flatbreads and selected cheesecakes. The wait was longer than we expected, but from what I could tell there were only two servers for more tables than they could handle. That was okay with us, we’re patient, and good things come to those who wait. The staff and table ratio made things take extra time, but we still had a very good evening. We’ll be back, 10/10.

Our room was great, with lovely bedding, good coffee, and breakfast. We could sit and read on the balcony, and the traffic was light and slow since it’s in town. The owners greeted us often, and we’ll definitely return, more likely when their restaurant is open. We wanted a nearby overnight getaway for our wedding anniversary. Since the restaurant was closed on Tuesday, there were plenty of rooms to choose from, and we dined nearby at the Black Dog Tavern at the Deer Creek Golf Course.

The rooms and atmosphere are great, the food is fantastic, and the wine is full of flavor and fun. But it’s Donnie, Jennifer, Kathryn, and the rest of their amazing staff who keep bringing us back. Even on hectic, busy evenings, they’re always kind, patient, and helpful. We really feel like part of the family there. My wife and I have been going to Wishmaker for years, and this review is long overdue. For a quick getaway where you and someone special can spend quality time together, this is the place. Whether you’re thinking of a few hours or a night or two, do yourself a favor and schedule a visit.
