Quality Inn Beloit

The staff we met apart from the room issues were lovely and friendly, and the front desk was happy to move us the next morning. We were in town for a nearby family event for two nights and needed somewhere that allowed our dog. The first room was musty and moldy, felt damp, had an AC that wasn't working properly, and a shower that wouldn't drain. The other room seemed okay while its doors were open during cleaning, but after we were out for the afternoon, it was damp and smelled moldy again by evening. The fridge was wet inside, and even the TV guide book in the bedside drawer smelled moldy. We all felt sick after staying there, which really worries me, especially with other reviews mentioning mold and mildew too. I understand pets may have to stay in certain rooms, but I wouldn't stay here again with this dampness and mildew. I also saw a housekeeper's son sitting in the basket of clean blankets and sheets with his shoes on, which didn't seem sanitary at all.

The beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was good, but breathing in that musty smell was hard. The carpet always seemed damp, and I wouldn't even promote the breakfast. We won't be back.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's a decent little hotel, and the guy at the front desk overnight and early in the morning was really friendly and helpful.

I’d already sent a review by email when they asked, so I wasn't planning to post here. Then the manager emailed back to argue about the pet fee without responding to the suffocating mold and pee smell that other one-star reviews mention. That made me feel I should share this. Most of my rating was about how overpowering that smell was in the pet room; I only briefly mentioned the fee. At under $100 before tax for the room, $25 per pet is expensive, whatever the manager thinks. They could address the same complaint showing up in other one-star reviews instead of skipping an apology. I’m going to contact the Wisconsin Department of Public Health to ask what can be done about this situation.
