Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Bemidji, MN

They don't value their guests. After I complained through the online survey, the hotel retaliated and discriminated against me. They sided with rude employees who don't know how to interact with guests. There are consistent comments about rude employees if you look. I filed a complaint with the corporate headquarters about this hotel. Avoid it and spend your hard-earned money somewhere else.

The room was clean and check-in went smoothly, but things went badly after midnight when the heat stopped. It was about 58 degrees inside. We called the desk in case the HVAC was down elsewhere, but they said it was only our room. The employee planned to reset the breaker, then later called to say she couldn't locate it and would try to reach a manager. We ended up sleeping under towels and jackets. In the morning, we were told the manager would arrive at 10 to fix it, so we waited, but she never showed. When we called around 10:45, she still wasn't there and we were promised a callback that never came. Really poor customer service. We had booked for a BSU hockey game.

We chose this place for a MERCYME show at the performing arts center next door, and the indoor connection meant we didn't have to go outside. The bar and grill is attached, too, and its cheese curds were great. Even with a wedding, hockey game, and concert filling the hotel, it was remarkably quiet. Our king suite was spacious and lovely, with a walk-in shower and reliably hot water. Breakfast wasn't very good, but we had a relaxing stay, and the texts checking in with us were a nice touch. It's right on Lake Bemidji, and we'd happily return.

The rooms were fine and the hotel was clean, but we couldn't comfortably use the lobby. We were just catching up with friends, speaking normally, when staff warned us we'd be kicked out unless we got quieter. A couple of other groups in the big lobby got the same warning. It was ridiculous, and that alone means I wouldn't stay here again.
