Hampton Inn & Suites Bend

The morning sun on the trees was so beautiful that we went for a walk after breakfast. It turned into a lovely experience, and we’re already thinking about coming back to Bend for a few days instead of just passing through. Our room was clean, we slept well, and breakfast was good. Kristi S. was friendly and attentive, always easy to approach. Thanks, Hampton, for a nice night and morning.

I’ve always enjoyed staying here, and otherwise it’s a great hotel. But charging $20 a night to park feels greedy when guests need a way to get where they’re going. I’d rather see that cost included in the room rate. I might look elsewhere next time.

You can walk straight from the hotel to the river loop and Drake Park, and the river walk is spectacular. No need to drive around. The $12 daily parking charge is easy to forget once you’re out enjoying it. The room was just nice, though several things need attention: the shower head, a broken chair, a slow sink drain, and the mattress. While I was on a trail, the hotel called asking me to hurry back and move my car because painters were there, and the front desk couldn’t say whether paint might get on it. I got back before anything happened, but guests should be told the painting schedule in advance. I’ll leave it there and head to my next adventure.

I’ve stayed at plenty of Hamptons and Hiltons over three weeks of travel from yeah to Washington and back, and this one was top notch even with renovations underway. The breakfast had a great variety, the hotel was quiet, and there were lots of places close by to walk to, including a theater, Red Robin, and a dog park just two to five minutes away. The hot tub and pool were working too.
