Best Western Plus Heritage Inn

I expected more from a BW Plus. The rooms felt very basic, more like what I’d expect at a Motel 6. In the first room, there was a foot smell, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed, and dried food was running down the microwave. Dust had built up on the baseboards, alarm clock, lamps, and outlets. We also couldn’t find a hair dryer or makeup remover cloth. The second room was cleaner, but still needed more attention, and had a random plastic tray on the bathroom counter where I expected hand soap.

The location is great, and for the price this wasn’t a bad place at all. The rooms were nice, the bed was good, and the continental breakfast had plenty of choices for that kind of breakfast. I only wish the shower had stronger pressure and hotter water.

I’d stay here again, though I’d ask for a room away from the freeway next time. The rooms are soundproofed well, but one side of the hotel faces the highway. I also missed having a freezer in the mini fridge, since I travel with medicine and need to refreeze my ice pack between legs of a trip. At breakfast there wasn’t a non-dairy milk option, like almond milk, which is usually available.

The breakfast spread was the highlight for me. There’s a waffle maker with chocolate chips and other toppings, plus omelettes with cheese, sausage, bacon, potatoes, cold juice and water, and ready-made yogurt parfaits. It was the best breakfast I’ve had at a Best Western franchise. The setup does get cramped when everyone is putting a plate together in the same small area. The bed was very comfortable, and the room felt cozy and extremely clean. The hand soap and lotion were good quality. My one small gripe was that the lighting stayed dim even with every light on. I felt comfortable and safe here, and would give it five stars.
