Spark by Hilton Bensalem Philadelphia

We enjoyed staying here for four days. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were nice. The rooms are basic, but the beds were comfortable and the pillows were good, which is rare. I didn’t expect much, but they did a great job. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

I’ve stayed here maybe four or five times for a little staycation, but after what happened tonight, I probably won’t return. Around 1 a.m. I went into the bathroom and saw a roach run across the sink and counter. At the desk, a white lady barely helped. I said hello and got no greeting back; when I explained what happened, she didn’t apologize or show any sympathy. She offered to move me to another room, but when I asked if someone could come up and kill it, she said she was the only one there and had no solution. There was no Lysol or bug spray, so I had to deal with it myself. She did switch my room, but that wasn’t enough to make me feel comfortable or cared about. A roach is pretty bad and usually means the place is dirty. Smh.

Samantha, the manager, was so helpful and welcoming while we stayed at Spark by Hilton for our wedding. She helped arrange accommodations and get things ready for our big day, and even decorated for the bride. The rooms and hotel were clean, and the common areas were lovely and convenient. Sam and the staff helped make it a perfect wedding weekend. Huge thanks to all of them. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The room was modern, very clean, and comfortable, and the nearby gas stations, restaurants, and stores made the location convenient. I was with my own 8-year-old, so the families and kids staying that weekend didn’t bother me, but the halls were noisy, with screaming and what sounded like banging on walls from several rooms. Around 6:45 p.m. there were Doritos all over the hallway floor, apparently dropped by a child and not yet picked up. From about 9 a.m. until 11 p.m., we got several urgent-sounding knocks on our door, but nobody was there when I checked. Maybe kids were playing around, but it got frustrating. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly, though he didn’t give us basic details like checkout time, breakfast hours, or amenities, which hotels usually cover. Cleanliness and comfort were there, and I’d probably have given five stars if check-in had felt more personal and we hadn’t had the repeated knocking.
