Super 8 Benson

Our truck was being repaired, so we were stuck in Benson and booked a room for one night. I was overcharged by $115, and it took all night and half the next day to get that fixed. After I checked out, they charged my card two more times. It’s still unresolved and really upsetting. I wouldn’t use a card there, and can only imagine how many others they’ve ripped off. The room was dirty and smelled bad. There was hair in the bathtub and the sheets were dirty, so luckily we had our own sheets and blanket. The place is falling apart, and the breakfast was nasty. Just a horrible experience.

We’d stayed here since it was built, but this time was the last. Over the past year they raised the room rate and added a pet fee. We tried another property and wondered if we’d been missing out all these years. Super 8 definitely isn’t what it used to be. I hope it gets back to how it was.

The staff were incredibly nice, both at night and during the day, and my room was quiet. For the price, this basic hotel offers better than average amenities. I visit Benson about once a year and expect to keep choosing it for a while.

It wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, but the price felt too high. The beds are hard, which might suit some people, just not me. I probably wouldn’t come back.
