Days Inn Benton

For a night on the road, it was good enough for the price. We arrived after 1 a.m. and were checked in politely, though the morning staff seemed annoyed when we checked out 30 minutes late and made a face. Staff friendliness and professionalism were hit or miss. The room was clean enough to feel comfortable, but dated and a bit musty, with loud road noise. We used a white noise machine to help. The bed was firm but comfortable enough, and the bath and shower worked and drained properly, unlike what other reviews said. Google took us there by an annoying route that was hard to manage in the dark.

The room smelled awful after housekeeping came in while I was out. I asked to move, but they wouldn't accommodate me, so I had to check out and find somewhere else. Of all the outlets, maybe two worked. The outlet by the sink had no cover, and the hair dryer was unusable because the plugs didn't work. 10/10 would not recommend.

Most of the King rooms have been completely renovated, and ours was great. We checked the room before paying after reading the reviews. The bed was great, which matters since we usually complain when a bed isn't firm. The room was clean enough overall, though there weren't enough plugs on either side of the bed. For a budget hotel, it was great, and the staff were excellent. We'll stay here again.

At the front desk I found out my 20lb dog would cost $15, even though booking had shown me a total for the stay. That pushed the supposed cheap rate up to what a better hotel would cost. The lobby was locked, so there was no coffee or breakfast. The rooms looked like they hadn't been refurbished in about 20 years, with paint chipped or missing on doors and elsewhere. The bed was extremely hard, like lying on a wooden board, and the freeway nearby made for exceptionally loud road noise. Probably the worst hotel I've stayed at in the Wyndham chain.
