Holiday Inn Express Berea by IHG

Everything in the room was clean and in order, and I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. I showed up Sunday morning without a reservation, and Bryan quickly found me a room with a king bed and made sure I had what I needed. He was warm and welcoming, and invited me to ask if I had questions. I’d been drawn to this Holiday Inn Express off the highway near the Berea Walmart, and I’m glad I followed that feeling. I didn’t think about trying another hotel. I’ll use this location again. Thank you!

We stopped at Holiday Inn Express with IHG halfway through our trip, traveling with our two large, elderly dogs. The staff were kind to them and friendly and helpful throughout, from the front desk to housekeeping. Bryan was especially nice. Even with construction underway in the lobby, the hotel stayed clean and organized. Our room and bathroom were very clean, and this was the best stay we’ve had at any Holiday Inn Express. We loved the place and its staff, and will come back. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Definitely recommend!

Jennifer kept the breakfast area clean and stocked, answered questions, and was another cheerful, helpful member of a staff full of friendly people. The breakfast was included, well above average, and very clean. After arriving close to midnight, we met Arthur, one of the friendliest and most helpful hotel employees we’ve encountered in a long time. Check-in took under a minute, and we were in a sparkling clean room right after. The bed was really comfortable, and another smiling face greeted us in the lobby in the morning. Sorry, I didn’t get her name. The hotel is quiet, comfortable, extremely clean, and right off 75, just what a roadside stop should be. Whoever hires here seems to have a knack for finding good people. We’ll return when we’re in the area.

The rooms were nice, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. There was a miscommunication with hotel engine that we were trying to sort out, and the desk employee got frustrated, yelled at us, and was disrespectful. No guest should be treated that way. My company stays at this and other Holiday Inns regularly, but I’ll have this hotel blacklisted and we won’t send our crews back. They shouldn’t have to put up with this. After my one-star review, the general manager called the next morning to resolve things. He got agitated and berated me over the review. I said the conversation wasn’t going anywhere and hung up. He called back, raised his voice, and then kicked us off the property. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Neither I nor anyone from my company will return. Do better.
