Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown by IHG

We spent three nights here and had a great time. The hotel was clean, the amenities were good, and the staff were kind and ready to help or arrange services when we needed them. There are fun shops and restaurants nearby, and the streetcar is close too. I’d happily stay again.

We had a very nice stay, with friendly service from the staff and a restaurant that served amazing food. The bartenders were great too. The rooms had lovely amenities, and the hotel is gorgeous and unusual, right in downtown Kansas City.

We booked two rooms with two queen beds months in advance and had already paid. When we arrived, we were told no rooms with two beds were available. They put us in one room with two twin beds and another with a king and a pull-out sofa. We managed to get through the week with two rooms and beds to sleep on, but that wasn't what we reserved. It feels like poor organization and management. If we book and pay ahead, we expect the rooms we chose to be ready when we get there.

The room had a comfortable lounger and a useful desk, and the modern bathroom was clean. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were good quality and smelled great. I liked the small touches too, like the flower on the toilet paper roll. There were both hot and cold choices in the snack area, including some nice popsicles, and the attached restaurant and bar cover dining. The hotel is trendy and well placed in the power & light district. For parking, you need to use a garage or pay $40 for valet. The garage cost less, with just a short walk.
