The valet service is excellent, especially Angel, who’s the best. The shuttle was really helpful, and being right on the street car line worked perfectly for us. We love staying here because the rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, and everyone is so friendly and helpful. That includes the managers, front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant servers.

We’d just spent almost 20 straight hours at the local hospital and were physically and mentally exhausted, so this was a terrible experience. We had called, reserved and paid for two rooms, and received confirmation numbers. But when we got to the Marriott, they said it was overbooked and offered us one room with a bed and sofa sleeper instead. This all happened within an hour of the booking. When we asked how they could confirm availability and then not have the rooms 20 minutes later, the response was casual, as if this happened all the time, and there was nothing they could do. Nobody seemed to care that we’d had such a difficult day or tried to find another room. We were basically told too bad, too sad. When we asked for a refund, they said we had to wait for the auditors. We still haven’t received it. Be careful booking here. The staff didn’t show much empathy.

I’m a local to KC and have had many “staycations” here. From the front to the back of the staff, the service has been phenomenal, and they even communicated with me before I arrived. At arrival it was nothing short of red carpet service. Valet was excellent, kind, helpful, and friendly. I’m not sure you’ll find better evening front desk staff. Matthew and the whole team have been first class. Top notch all around, and I’d recommend it with 10+ stars. What a stay and what an experience. You won’t be disappointed. The room was nice, and from the 19th floor we had a beautiful nighttime view of the city. The hotel shuttle can take you to and from Country Club Plaza, only a couple of minutes away by car. It’s an expensive place, and parking is another $30 per night. There are online package deals, though. For $20 a person, the breakfast buffet should be good, and it was: the choices were plentiful, and there’s an omelet station. It’s the first hotel breakfast I’ve had in quite a while that came close to restaurant quality.
