Holiday Inn Express Bernalillo by IHG

The staff left breakfast out later than usual on a Monday, which was a lovely surprise after we’d been at the balloon fiesta since 5am and got back after 10a. We weren’t expecting breakfast or anything, so thanks for making our 2025 balloon fiesta experience even better. The hotel looks fantastic after its upgrades, though you can still spot some of the old parts. One thing to fix: I had to scan my card 15 times to get back in through the back door last night.

We liked it enough to stay a second day. The hotel was very clean, and after a long day at the hot springs, it was nice to have the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was reasonable, the coffee decent, and Walmart was nearby for restocking during our drive.

My husband (Noe Garcia and I) have stayed at many Holiday expresses across the United States, and the one here in Bernailillo NM is among our top 5. The staff are so attentive, and Rosie Miranda at the front desk is a real gem. She’s informative and sweet. While I was at the store, my husband had a heart episode, and Rosie stepped in, got him to our room, put his nitro glycerin under his tongue, and stayed with him until I got back and he had come around and was himself again. I hope headquarters sees this. Rosie Miranda and the whole team at this location deserve recognition, and at least a raise for Rosie. Thank you for what you did.

We walked in without a reservation and Irene at the front desk got us a room within minutes. She was friendly, and check-in and checkout were a breeze. The rooms and common areas were very clean, and the whole staff was nice and friendly. They deserve a raise! The pool was clean and comfortable, and the hot tub jets were strong enough to help our sore backs after traveling. Breakfast was fresh with a good variety, and the pancake machine was neat to use. We’d definitely stay again.
