Adair Country Inn and Restaurant

The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the food was excellent. There’s also a fun bar and a basement pool table. It’s a well-kept classic New England inn, with amazing views.

Breakfast arrived hot, fresh, and right on time, and there were pastries, yogurt, and fruit in the common area during the day. That generous touch was lovely. The whole property was clean and cared for, with a quiet, relaxed feel that suited me perfectly. My room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, and I slept well. Check-in and checkout were easy, too. The host was friendly and helpful without hovering. I’d happily stay here again when I’m in the area.

Breakfast was incredible, and the chef was so kind. My husband has celiac disease, and the chef came out to ask what would work for him before preparing an amazing meal. He even shook our hands and wished us well. The grounds are beautiful and spacious, with a trail around the back, a small pond, and gardens planted by the original owner. The house has so much history that I’d love to live there full time. We spent several evenings playing pool in the downstairs hangout area. There’s also a great bar in the little upstairs library. We’d already eaten before arriving, so we missed out on dinner, though it smelled wonderful as we passed by. We were on a road trip honeymoon and had booked without looking closely into the place, so we were blown away when we arrived. The location worked well for us, near a grocery store and just off the major highways, though I’m not a New Hampshire native, so take that with a grain of salt. I can’t recommend it enough as a place to stay, and hope we can come back.

The grounds felt secluded and peaceful, yet the location was handy for visiting The Flume Gorge/Franconia Notch and The Cog Railway. We loved walking the trails and taking in the spectacular mountain views. The staff looked after us well, and breakfast was delicious. The Adair Inn is charming and beautiful, and we’d love to return.
