We stayed one night in a small, cozy lodge, a bit farther from the center of Big Bear, and the area was quiet. I can’t remember the exact number. The beds were a little uncomfortable, and the bedrooms felt stuffy. We opened the windows, but that thick-air feeling wouldn’t go away.

A quiet, private modern woodsy cabin tucked in the forest, with two bedrooms and a full kitchen. You can walk two blocks to the golf course and four to the ski resort. Grocery stores, restaurants, bicycling, and Big Bear Lake are a mile away. It has Wi-Fi, a TV, stereo, and fireplace. Skip the big hotel, check yourself in, and enjoy your privacy.
It was a little pricey, and the carpet in the cabin triggered allergies. We’d planned and paid to stay two nights over Thanksgiving, but couldn’t stand the allergies and had to leave Thanksgiving night before dinner. We explained it to cool cabins, but they didn’t do anything.
