That mattress was so firm it made sleeping hard and left me with some back discomfort. Otherwise, I’ve stayed at Country Inn & Suites in Big Flats several times and find it a nice hotel, with clean rooms, welcoming staff, and good hospitality. The location is convenient and the complimentary breakfast is a nice extra, though the kitchen area can get crowded at busy times. It’s very family-friendly, so the pool, treadmill area, and café can sometimes be noisy with children around.

My kids had a blast in the pool, and we’ll definitely vacation here again. The staff were polite, amazing, and super nice. Our rooms were quiet and clean, and breakfast was good. We even saw deer visiting at night. Shopping and fun were close by.

Breakfast had very few choices and was subpar, and there were no working lights in the parking lot. Snow clearing was slow: the lot wasn’t being plowed until almost 1:30 p.m., and the road into the hotel never seemed to get cleared. The room was a good size and looked recently updated, but the tub drain was broken, the sink drained poorly, and part of the shower curtain’s metal casing was coming off the wall. We also had no TV service one day, and the front desk didn’t seem concerned. The room phone didn’t work, so I had to look up the number and call from my cell. During our three-night stay, I only saw anyone at the desk at check-in and check-out. If staff don’t want negative feedback, they shouldn’t ask guests how their stay was.

The floors looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in years, and a strong moldy smell hit us as soon as we entered. We asked to switch rooms, but staff said everything was sold out and they couldn’t address it. The hotel’s cleanliness and condition were unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend it.
