Parmer's Resort

Our room was very clean, had an awesome view, and we liked having the complimentary breakfast outside by the water. We arrived by boat. The slips weren't marked very clearly, but there was enough room for our 23-foot boat to maneuver and fit comfortably. Watch out for shallow rocks, though most were marked. The hours for renting amenities were odd, 8:30-3:30, I think, so our tight schedule meant we missed out on the bikes and kayaks. Even so, we had an awesome time at Parmer’s.

The front desk staff were always in a good mood and very service-minded. That's what I call SERVICE. The rooms are okay, with plenty of pillows for a comfortable night's sleep, but the bathroom is very tight and the single-unit AC is noisy, even though it works as it should. Breakfast is included, with coffee, cereal and bagels with butter or cream cheese. The place is close to restrooms and souvenir shops for people who like to explore. They also rent kayaks and bicycles and offer boat trips. There are places to relax in the sun and cook your own barbecue. It's a good starting point for visiting lots of places, with Keywest about 20 minutes away. Would I come back? HELL YES.

The location was good, and the workers were friendly. But the beds were uncomfortable, and that made the stay less enjoyable. The AC didn't work, and the maintenance man was very nice but couldn't help us with it. The sliding door was nearly impossible to lock from inside, so we could only secure it with the bar.

Parmer's Resort suited us because we wanted somewhere relaxed and simple, with waterfront access and no need for bells or whistles. It's a little away from Key West's hustle and bustle, but close enough to meander down when we feel like it. The resort is clean, the people are friendly and helpful, and it's centrally located for the things we wanted to do.
