The location is the one thing Gravity Haus Big Sky really has going for it. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, but little else impressed us. The website amenities and FAQ don't match the property at all, and actually describe the Vail, Colorado location. Staff on site were rude and unhelpful, and we didn't feel welcome or like our stay mattered. I'd spend the money at the neighboring Wilson Hotel, the Residence Inn by Marriott, instead. Stay somewhere else.

The food was a highlight for us. I loved the green chili tacos, and my husband was a fan of the steak one. We liked them enough to order both twice. The hot tub and sauna were part of our daily routine, and the spa was clean without being overly chlorinated. Our room was comfortable, with West Elm furniture and good coffee that passed muster with us coffee snobs. Service was excellent, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Really great experience, and we'll be back.
I originally chose Gravity Haus because I needed a dog-friendly place for a work stay, and it turned into a treat. The staff made me feel welcome the whole time, and they loved my dog almost as much as I do. The room was spacious, the bed gave me some of my best sleep in a long time, and the extra-large desk made it easy to work. There were drinks and snacks in the fridge, cozy robes, reusable cups and mugs, and hand soap and lotion that smelled amazing. Everything I could need was there. Nothing bad to say about the location or the experience, 10/10.
If you're mainly here to board or ski and don't care much about the hotel, this could be a passable option. Spring rates are much lower than winter ones, though I can't see how this basic place justifies $545 a night. It feels only a little better than an Airbnb and seems converted from another kind of building. There's a second floor with no elevator or ADA access, so anyone who needs that will be on the ground floor. The doors are loud enough to shake the whole hallway when they slam. There's no soft-close hardware or padding, so if someone comes back at midnight and you're asleep, that's tough. The front desk workers seem to juggle the bar, floor, and check-in, but it's unclear what's happening or when you'll be able to check in. When we checked out, the woman couldn't combine our separate charges, so I had to run my card four times for coffee, bottled water, food, and the room. Ridiculous.
The room and amenities were reasonable, and the staff were young, friendly, and accommodating. But for what I paid, I expected better service. In three nights, the room was never serviced, and we didn't even get fresh towels. This feels like a hotel with poor management. The on-site taco place had good food, about on par with Chipotle, but at Big Sky prices. They serve it in sustainable cardboard bowls with utensils, if that's your thing.
