At One&Only Moonlight Basin, the mountain views are breathtaking and remain completely unobstructed from the guest rooms, lobby, and restaurants. The team at Akira Back also deserves recognition: the staff were genuine, customer-focused, and phenomenal. What made the stay special was how warmly the staff treated us, from valet to the dining teams. They also took guest safety seriously. When a moose appeared nearby while we were spending time on the property, staff warned us promptly and professionally. The Receptionist & Welcome Team made a strong impression. Zach, or someone with a similar name, welcomed us with drinks and made checkout smooth, said goodbye warmly, and addressed our needs. The team member who showed us around the hotel and room at the start was thoughtful and kind too. I can't remember everyone's name, but the hospitality was clear. We highly recommend this place for a mountain getaway!

Christmas at One&Only Moonlight Basin felt like stepping into a dream. The grounds were peaceful, expansive, and beautifully set into the landscape, with every detail feeling carefully considered. The food was wonderful, the cocktails expertly made, and the wine list was impressive and thoughtfully curated. Dining around the property felt both luxurious and welcoming. I've stayed at One&Only The Palm and visited One&Only Cape Town, and I've admired the brand for a long time. I was thrilled to hear its first U.S. property was opening, and Moonlight Basin exceeded what I expected. From arrival through departure, the whole team made the stay seamless and thoughtful. A few people made it especially memorable. Blake, the Front Desk Office Manager, was knowledgeable, professional, pleasant, and detail-oriented. Sara at Akira Back made excellent cocktail recommendations and brought warm, engaging hospitality. Bry at the Moon Shack felt like an old friend from the moment we met. I don't even like whiskey, but I drank nothing else during my stay. That little shack was a thoughtful touch. Whitney at the spa was calming and caring, and her professionalism made the visit restorative. My hosts, Alex and Diana, anticipated what I needed and made everything feel personal and easy. Jay, my driver, was attentive and reliable, and every ride was comfortable and smooth. Everyone I met showed genuine hospitality. This place captures the thoughtful, personal luxury I associate with One&Only. I can't wait to return, and I'm already planning to make it my annual winter getaway.

The Moon Shack, also called the Whiskey Shack, in the woods became our nightly stop. You can only get there by heated luxury ATVs, and the scent of the old wood cabin shipped in from Idaho mixed with rosemary being torched for a cocktail is unforgettable. They should make a candle. The photos don't capture the charm of the place. Erica, the bar manager, and every bartender we met made us feel welcome, kept the drinks coming, and shared local lore. Boots the Fox even showed up! We were there for opening weekend after booking rooms for my husband, me, and some friends and clients through the First Reveal promotion. I also moonlight as a travel advisor. We've visited several One&Only properties worldwide and love the brand's hand-on-heart hospitality, thoughtful finishes, design, and sense of place. Its first U.S. property lived up to that reputation. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, and carefully designed. It was big enough to have friends over for a nightcap or to go over the next day's plans. The hotel has plenty of cozy corners for guests to settle in with a book and blanket or a good drink by the fire. Everything we ate was phenomenal, especially dinner at Akira Black. The chef stopped by to chat and toast with us between courses. We brought wine from our own cellar to celebrate, though we could have chosen from the extensive, exceptional list onsite. The staff went out of their way to make our stay great. We can't recommend the hotel, restaurant, and bars enough, and we're eager to return.

Getting here was a disaster, with poor signage and no valet. At the restaurant, nobody seemed to know what was going on, and there was construction everywhere. For what guests pay, this was the worst luxury hotel experience. There wasn't a single bottle of Pinot Grigio on the property, and 8/12 draft beers were empty. There's no shuttle from the restaurant to the base, so if you don't leave by 3:30, you're stranded.

This beautiful One & Only in Big Sky is a special place. The property is breathtaking, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the pool and spa are wonderful. The gondola takes you right to the Madison chairlift, which is everything. Looking forward to staying again.
