The Lodge at Big Sky

The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a bit of variety from one day to the next, and our stay included many amenities. But the service from Aaron, Abraham, and Karla was the real standout. They made the experience so delightful that I'd give the lodge eight stars if I could. I've never had hotel service quite like it. Their boss should give them all raises. I can't say enough about how wonderful our time at the Lodge of big sky, Montana was.

The staff were helpful, and breakfast had a nice space and a good selection. The pool was warm and solid, and it was nice to have three outdoor hot tubs, although one was too hot to use. The newer building had a room with three beds, but ours was in the basement and had a window that wouldn't open. The real downside was the price: $600USD a night for a midweek stay in February.

The way housekeeping handled my things left us stressed, ruined the evening, and had me worrying about what other gross things they might do. We also had to walk along a dangerous, icy two-lane road with no sidewalk to reach the ski lift. I washed my thermal pants by hand and hung them on an inside bar in the shower to dry. They were black and easy to see, but the cleaning crew put the dirty, moldy shower curtain inside them. The room smelled of mildew. I complained to the woman at the front desk, who said it wouldn't happen again, but offered nothing for the hassle of washing and drying my clothes again. Two days later, housekeeping did it again, this time stuffing the shower curtain into my shower sponge. I included a picture, and wish I'd taken one of what they did to my pants. Putting something dirty and moldy on a sponge I use to wash my body was so rude. I had to throw it away. The front desk guys got defensive and offered no solution. We never heard from management, and one guy at the desk said that's how they clean. Mistakes happen, but it matters how they're handled, and they didn't even try.

Aaron and Abraham were especially helpful, sorting out whatever we needed and making our stay great. The service was outstanding, and it's a great place to stay for skiing at Big Sky. We'll definitely be back.
