MainStay Suites Big Spring North I-20

The coffee was really watered down, but the staff were nice and breakfast was decent. For the price, I'd go somewhere else. The room wasn't clean when I arrived, there were stains on the furniture, and it smelled horrible. Paint was peeling, there was mildew, and pieces of the door were breaking off.

Rooms were extremely dirty and smelled awful, and the bathrooms were full of mold. I woke up with a bunch of pimples on my back and face, which has never happened to me before. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else, I don't recommend it.

The staff were very nice, and the rooms were large with comfortable beds, which worked well for our family of five. Priya, Vic, and Stephanie were especially sweet. We stayed four days, though both the room we were first given and the replacement hadn't been cleaned properly. Stephanie cleaned the second room herself for us. At check-in, we also learned there was a $250 deposit, which nobody had mentioned. We had a room for my parents too, so I explained I didn't have $500, especially since the trip had been last minute because of a family emergency. The rate was different from what I'd been quoted when making the reservations, but they adjusted the rate and deposit. I got the deposit back at checkout. I did find it odd to have to pay a hotel deposit.

There was no swimming pool, even though the reservation said there was. I told the front desk clerk about it, and later that afternoon the website changed its amenities and removed the pool pictures. I was furious. It was a very hot day, and our family and friends had come a long way, over six hours, to join us for our great uncle and aunt's 60th wedding anniversary stay. Having no pool was embarrassing and disappointing. 😔🤦😡
