DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Billings

We had great views, fresh cookies at check-in, and $10 garage parking. My main issue was the cold side of the room by the windows. Turning up the heat didn’t help, the heater was quite loud when it came on, and ice on the inside of the windows made the shades freeze to them. The outlets by the beds also feel very dated, so we were glad we’d brought a power bar.

The price felt high for a stay where you pay extra for water in the room, decent Wi-Fi, and channels beyond basic local cable. The room was mostly clean, though the area behind the nightstand was pretty nasty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The beds were very nice, and I enjoyed my stay otherwise. If they cleaned every part of the room, offered good free Wi-Fi like less expensive hotels do, and had more helpful staff, I think it could be at least a 4 to 4.5 star hotel.

I’ve stayed here several times and usually get consistently good service. The front desk staff are welcoming and professional, and the place is nice, clean, and has a good vibe. My last visit was frustrating, though. Shortly after check-in, while I was working in my room, housekeeping tried to come in without knocking. The security lock stopped the door from opening all the way, and fortunately I wasn’t changing clothes. They said they’d been told the room was vacant. I understand mistakes happen, but the next day I didn’t get room service at all. These things aren’t typical, but they’re why I rated it 4 out of 5.

I travel often for business, and this place makes life on the road easy. The staff are courteous, friendly, and flexible about what I need: good value, quiet, a workspace, focus, and enough tech options to work in my room or the business area. Thanks for the great service.
