Best Western Cypress Creek

We travel a lot, and this hotel was better than most. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. They also let us check out late. The only issue for me was the mildew-like smell as soon as we walked into the room.

The suite was comfortable, and the pool was great when it wasn't packed to capacity. The location also puts you close to all the area's attractions. Breakfast was especially well done, with yogurt and good toppings. The phone only let us call the front desk, no matter how we tried to use it, and the walls are thin, so noise carries a long way through the halls.

The location just off Interstate 10 worked well for us, and check-in and checkout were quick. We stayed four nights in the room described, but it was never cleaned during our stay. We had to ask for extra towels and handled the garbage ourselves. Breakfast was the usual hot eggs, sausage, biscuits, cereal, juice, coffee, and toast. On checkout day the elevator was out, which made leaving more of a chore from the third floor.

Every morning during my three-day stay, someone tried to enter my room without announcing themselves. That could be terrifying for a woman staying alone, so after the first day I started using the second lock. I suspect someone on the cleaning staff was doing it on purpose to walk in on guests, which is disgusting, though that's only my suspicion. The hotel had a very odd smell, and the rooms weren't cleaned to standard. When I raised it, the front desk clerk showed fake concern and didn't call anyone while I stood there. The lobby was empty, and she wasn't busy. I was only there briefly for a family member's birthday, but I'll never stay again. Women traveling alone, beware.
