Econo Lodge Biloxi Beach North

I used to love this place and had stayed several times over the past few years. It was my go-to for a quick, convenient stay, and the staff had always been friendly. But the woman in the breakfast room was rude and nasty. She yelled at my son over an accidental spill while we were cleaning it up, and that was uncalled for. You shouldn't treat people that way. I'm unhappy now, and it makes me not want to recommend the place anymore.

The location works well if you want to be near the beach and casino, but I wouldn't stay here for a good night's sleep or helpful service. Room 123 looked clean, yet bedbugs came out around 3 a.m. and bit me. Thankfully, the second bed in our double room seemed free of them. Noise travels straight through the thin walls and ceiling, so anyone moving next door or upstairs sounded like a stampede. After that rough night, I woke later than usual, but they knocked at 10:50 a.m. with a rude warning that checkout was at 11 and I'd be charged for another day. They opened my door at 11, and wouldn't give me even ten extra minutes. I was a Diamond Choice Privileges member, too, and felt that counted for nothing.

We had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend the place. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the beach is just across the road. Restaurants and local shops are an easy walk away. Our one issue was the toilet: it sometimes needed the handle held down or two or three flushes to work properly.

The pool is small, but clean and nice, and the location is convenient for the reasonable price. Staff were generally friendly. During our five days, housekeeping never came into the room and took the trash only once. The room phone didn't work, and when we asked about it, they wouldn't repair it and said to call them from our cell phones instead.
