Golden Nugget Biloxi

The lighting gave the room a strange orange cast, and the whole place felt poorly kept, unsanitary, and in need of repairs. There was visible mold and mildew in a corner, dust built up around the room, and the vent door wasn't sealed properly. The balcony was disgusting and unusable. The pillows had visible stains, and the desk was damaged. In the bathroom, turning on the shower also made the bathtub faucet run, which made it hard to use. I expected much better from Gold Nugget Hotel & Casino and hope management takes this seriously before other guests run into the same problems.

There's plenty to do here and the staff are very friendly, but the hotel parking is terrible and our room was just mediocre. A large sectional sofa was squeezed in front of the windows and didn't fit the space well. The cheap floating vinyl floor planks slapped against the base as we walked. The sink was draining slowly, so we pulled out the stopper and found it full of hair, with gunk down the drain. I doubt we'll come back.

The casino itself is nice, but the lack of cleanliness means we probably won't stay here again. We used to love coming about ten years ago, so this was disappointing. Our first room had food on the sticky floor and cigarette butts on the balcony. The replacement was cleaner, but most of its lights didn't work and it still wasn't in good shape. We had booked a balcony room with a good view, but after moving us to the fifth floor, we got a pretty crummy view and couldn't enjoy what we paid for. The third-floor pool had all sorts of things floating in it, so it wasn't pleasant to use. Trust the reviews you've seen, it's pretty yucky.

Stephen, the security man at the front door, made me and my cousins feel at home and had us laughing. He was the highlight of our trip to the Golden Nugget. Give that man a raise!
