Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi

The rooms are nice, and it's quiet enough to get decent rest after gambling. Only two of the three shower heads work, so we make do with those. I wish there were a microwave in the room, especially after buying food downstairs.

The casino staff were friendly while we played slots and had dinner, and that's why I'm giving three stars. They shouldn't be lumped in with the security guard. My husband has never had a good experience with Hard Rock, and neither of us had heard anything good, but I hoped this first visit might change our minds. It didn't. The overpriced coffee and breakfast inside, plus a walk on the pier behind the casino, had sounded nice, but after the way we were treated we couldn't leave fast enough. We drive an RV with an attached trailer, so we called ahead about overnight parking. The desk told us to park across the street from the sign. When we arrived, we checked with staff again and got the same directions. Then this morning someone knocked and told us we weren't welcome. If RVs have to park somewhere specific, mark the area. The self-parking and other spaces are labeled clearly, so why not RV parking? Don't send a security guard at us when we'd parked exactly where staff directed us. She came at us aggressively, and we'd heard she had a reputation for being rude to casino guests. We're traveling entertainers and drive all over the country. This is now marked on our map as a place to avoid, both for the poor handling of parking and because we heard multiple gunshots in the surrounding neighborhood, which didn't feel safe to park in.

We left and booked another hotel that night, and the hotel director never returned the multiple messages I left. The building itself seemed old and run down, with a persistent unpleasant smell, and the customer service was completely lacking. I wouldn't recommend it, especially to families. We'd booked two queen beds, but were told at arrival none were available and got a king instead, which was unacceptable with our child. The room smelled strongly of marijuana. We were on the seventh floor, directly above the sixth, which we were told was a smoking floor. Within minutes, all of us, including our 4-year-old, were coughing. We went straight to the desk. Night manager Dee offered to “spray the room,” which wasn't acceptable, so we asked to move. Staff said the hotel was full, even though rooms appeared available on Hotels.com at the time. The front desk staff were extremely rude, wouldn't give their names, had no business cards, and offered no real help. At 9 PM with a 4-year-old, we were essentially ignored.

Had a blast at the Hard Rock Café tonight, thanks to the crew. Silver and Mont nailed the drinks and kept the energy up. Dallas kept everything spotless while still letting the place keep its cool atmosphere. They were amazing.
