We’ve stayed here many times, but this visit had several problems. The refrigerator wasn’t plugged in; we moved it to plug it in, but it still didn’t work. The conditioner bottle was empty, and the bathrooms need a thorough cleaning. There was mildew in the shower corners and pink slime on the door sweep. Supervisors need to address it. It’s not that hard to clean. The ice machine on our floor worked this time, unlike on our last visit. Why isn’t there one on every floor? In the past, Marriott properties were cleaner, and we rarely ran into maintenance issues.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, but a couple of maintenance problems stood out. The elevator made a grinding sound every time it moved. More concerning, the dented door frame meant I couldn’t lock my room door properly and had to rely on the small safety latch, which didn’t feel secure. My stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Birmingham Colonnade/Grandview was okay, though these issues need attention. It didn’t meet the standard I’d expect from a Marriott property, but it wasn’t a terrible stay.

No coffee in the morning, seriously? For a business hotel surrounded by businesses, that’s ridiculous. They said their only machine was broken. Go to Walmart and get something temporary. What a joke.

The location was quiet, with no traffic noise, but still close to everything we needed. The staff were welcoming, and both the room and hotel were clean.

The breakfast team was excellent, and the rooms were clean. Front desk staff were friendly and capable whenever I needed them. I was really pleased with the stay and will come back when I’m driving home from the beach. If you’re a Marriott member, you’ll be glad you chose this place. If you aren’t, staying here might make you want to join. Highly recommend! 💯 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
