The Chinese restaurant across the street was really good, and the location was about the only thing in this hotel's favor. Parking costs a lot, the hotel restaurant choices aren't appealing, and there's no free breakfast. We had no fridge or microwave in the room, just a K-cup coffee maker. I couldn't find any information about room service, either. The elevators were out when we arrived, so my disabled husband and I had to climb to the fourth floor. You also have to call downstairs to get the temperature changed, which is a pain if you're uncomfortable. There was no ice machine on our floor, so we had to go all the way back to the kitchen downstairs. The shower drain cover had come off, leaving a big hole in the floor. For the price, it wasn't worth it, and I wouldn't call it a four-star hotel.

The beds were comfortable, the decor looked nice, and the location was convenient, with plenty of good food within walking distance. The staff were pleasant and took my concerns seriously. Getting in from the parking garage was awful. The outdoor elevator was broken, so I had to haul my luggage up stairs covered in vomit. The garage smelled strongly of urine, and a man came up to me asking for money while I was alone. There were several homeless people nearby, so stay alert. Valet parking is available. Inside, the bathroom door was a slider, and the bathroom crevices were dirty. The front desk controls the air conditioning, so you have to call or go down to ask for a temperature change, assuming the room phone works. The elevator felt cramped and unreliable, with buzzing noises.

The staff were nice and gave me a late checkout, which helped after a night of clubbing until 5:30. Still, I wouldn't stay here again. Upside down Plaza bar is inside or just outside the hotel, and the music starts at 9, getting louder until 5 a.m. We couldn't sleep until 5:30 after an unwanted club session in our room. I'd avoid the place and stay outside the city, somewhere safe.

We used valet and had no trouble getting an Uber. The area is busy, though, with street noise and people yelling all night. The room was about 80 degrees when we checked in. We tried adjusting the thermostat, then called and learned the front desk controlled it. They'd forgotten to tell us. The elevators were also out, which was inconvenient for us and could be really difficult for some people. We only stayed one night, and the price was reasonable. The very sweet front desk staff upgraded our room when we arrived. The complimentary member breakfast was a mystery, judging by the paper they gave us. I ordered oatmeal and got Quaker packets to choose from. I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid for it.

The room smelled stale and felt the same. Garbage hadn't been emptied, and there was some old can of garbanzo beans or something in it. The sheets hadn't been changed. At first I thought the stuff at the foot of the bed might be bed bugs, but it was someone's disgusting flakes of skin. The shower hadn't been cleaned either. My husband and I were so exhausted, with only about six hours there before leaving early to continue our trip, that we didn't ask for another room or leave. We slept fully dressed, shoes on, on top of the comforter. I should've risked staying at BACKWOODS MOTEL 6 instead. Absolutely horrendous. Don't waste your money.
