The staff, price, and location were fine, but the cleanliness wasn’t acceptable. There was hair in the bathroom, a blood stain on the bedspread, debris on the hallway floors, and dust and debris around the pool. The rooms, halls, and pool area were extremely dirty. The property is older and needs updating, which I can understand, but dirt is unacceptable. I’m getting wary of Choice Properties, and this place needs an audit or inspection. I’d read several reviews before booking and held my nose because my child was excited about the waterslides. The negative reviews were accurate.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the sofa bed had no sheets, blankets, or pillows. We asked the front desk and they did provide sheets. Breakfast wasn’t restocked much during the last 40 minutes, even after a few guests asked for particular items.

The hotel photos online really convinced us the place would be great, but the rooms and property looked much worse in person. The carpets and walls were stained and had a funky odor. Rooms had barely any main lighting, and the AC filters looked like they hadn’t been changed in years. After we complained and started the refund process, a staff member said, “Good luck trying to find a hotel because they are all going to have the same problems.” We happily moved to holiday inn, where we were told that Comfort Inn’s PR and hospitality services weren’t professional. Bismarck health inspectors should come ASAP!

The only good thing was the location, which let me get out of there as quickly as possible. I asked for a wake-up call and didn’t get one, so I missed breakfast. I tried to show a video of the weak hot water, but it said uploads were only possible through Google Photos, which I don’t use. My room was humid and at 77 degrees. I tried everything with the AC before calling the front desk. They came up, fiddled with it, and told me to call down if it wasn’t cooler in 20 minutes. The temperature never changed. At 11:30 pm they moved me from a King to a Double Queen room that was cooler. There were stains on the floor by the garbage can that looked like blood, the top sheet was missing, and the bathroom sink barely dripped hot water. When I asked for a discount or refund, they basically told me to kick rocks. Worst hotel stay I’ve had in 15 years.

The service was decent, but the stay definitely wasn’t worth what we paid, and I won’t return. When we pulled in to check in, the parking lot was a sheet of ice with snow everywhere. They hadn’t cleared any of it, and most sidewalks were still covered. The hallways and room also had an odd smell.
