The Silver Lake Lodge

The area above the cabin was so peaceful and scenic, and we enjoyed a couple of nice walks. We also spent time in the family room doing a puzzle, playing games, and watching a movie. The host was friendly, quick to respond, and really helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, and the whole place felt cozy, welcoming, and well cared for. We enjoyed dinner on-site so much that we ate there both nights. It felt worth the price, especially not having to drive down to Idaho Springs afterward and being able to head straight upstairs. Such a relaxing, romantic getaway. Just keep in mind there’s a steep staircase between the upper level and the living and dining areas.

We were there for one night in February. The building and hospitality were amazing, and the long views of the mountains were lovely, especially with snow on many of them. We’re vegetarian and vegan, and breakfast worked well for us. We’ll definitely come back.

We had the smallest room the lodge offers, but it still felt comfortable and homey. My fiancée and I spent a night there during her birthday weekend, and the lodge was a cozy, intimate spot for a romantic getaway. It’s close enough to Denver to make an easy staycation. After dinner in Idaho Springs, we played cards and board games in the common room by the electric fireplace. There are no TVs in the rooms, which made the night feel even more special. The sheets were soft and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. The proprietor served each course one dish at a time while we enjoyed the mountain views. The rugged scenery is all around, and St. Mary’s Glacier and Georgetown are nearby. We’re planning to return for a longer stay this winter.

John, the new owner, was attentive and clearly runs the place well. The breakfast was delicious, and the views were amazing. It’s a beautiful, rustic log cabin with warm furnishings, close to St. Mary's glacier. Highly recommend.
