Super 8 by Wyndham Black Mountain/Asheville East

The room was clean, and the front desk guy was really friendly. The noise was the downside: the walls are thin, so you can easily hear people talking outside. For this price, it was about what I expected. Fine for a night or two, but I wouldn't stay longer.

We'd always had a great time here, and the beds are really comfortable. The rooms are pretty fairly priced for a Wyndham member, and we plan to keep staying and bringing our business. But during our last visit, on 12/29/25, they took $100 from my boyfriend's card, saying the room smelled like marijuana. We did nothing differently, and nobody smoked marijuana in the room. We left after 10am, but they didn't take the money until 3pm. I'm going to corporate because I want that $100 back.

The view of the Seven peaks of mountains from the room is amazing, and the atmosphere was peaceful. I stayed at Super 8 at Black mountain for almost 4-5 days. The staff were friendly and supportive, and the rooms were clean and hygienic. If you're in Charlotte, Black mountain, or Asheville, I'd recommend this property for the views and scenery outside.

We stayed two nights in Room 133 and enjoyed it. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, and the accommodations were clean and budget friendly. It was quiet, too. There's a walking path nearby, a huge lot for RVs and trailers, and a creek beside the property with chairs and a two person bench swing. We sat there with a glass of wine. The front desk staff were pleasant and friendly. There's an excellent Mexican restaurant next door, but it was closed because of a flood and should be opening soon. We ate at its temporary location about three minutes away. Ole Guacamole is awesome! If you expect a five star hotel, this may not be your spot, but for a budget stay where you can save money, it works well. I'd seen a few less positive reviews, but we had a good stay.
