The easy walks made this a great base for our college visit. Campus, downtown restaurants, and trails were all nearby, and communication was excellent. We stayed two nights in the Dogwood House, in the Cascade Room, a pet-friendly first-floor two-bedroom suite with a shared living room and kitchen. Our dog Junie was happy there. Parking was right outside our door, and the keypad entry made check-in and checkout very simple. The homes are older, so footsteps from occupied upstairs bedrooms may carry, though it didn’t bother us. We ate breakfast out, so I can’t speak to the paid breakfast, but we enjoyed fresh coffee from the main house. After we’d moved on, my daughter noticed her treasured stuffed animal was missing. Pawel found “Spudge” and sent him back by priority mail. We’re very grateful. I’d recommend this B&B over a traditional hotel for a Virginia Tech visit.

It’s only about a five-minute walk to my favorite spots on Draper Rd and downtown, and the campus is right nearby. Lane Stadium is probably a 15-20 minute walk if you’re here for a game or university event. The place itself is cute and cozy, the service was lovely, and getting in and out was easy. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in town.

The common areas are beautiful and relaxing, and the rooms feel spacious and well equipped. We found this an ideal place to stay while visiting our daughter at Virginia Tech: the property is essentially on campus, so we could walk everywhere. Highly recommend it.

We loved our stay in the Dogwood House. It was clean and cozy, and the location in Blacksburg worked perfectly. The owner also gave us great suggestions for places to see nearby. Such a nice find, highly recommend!

For visiting our child at Tech, the location was hard to beat. Her dorm was about a five-minute walk away, and the downtown restaurants were ten minutes or less on foot. Breakfast was reasonably priced and tasty, parking was set aside for guests, and the hosts were kind. It had everything we wanted in a BnB. Just a couple of small room issues: the light outside our door had cobwebs on it when we arrived, and there was a broken washer/dryer in the space. Neither affected our stay, and we’d definitely come back. Hope we do!
