Comfort Suites University

The rates jump quite a bit at busy times, so we’d come more often if they didn’t. We had a large room with a king bed, pull-out couch, mini-fridge, microwave, and sink, and the hotel was conveniently just off the exit and a few miles from Virginia Tech. Check-in and checkout were both easy. Breakfast was included, with pancakes, turkey sausage, eggs, and plenty more. Coffee, hot chocolate, and tea were available all day too. We had a great experience at the Holiday Inn in Blacksburg.

That huge room had comfortable beds, and the front desk woman I spoke with during our two-day stay was pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, but that was about the only thing I really liked. We were there for a VT home game and paid $$$$ for the weekend. The room itself was below par: the carpet smelled, the toilet had poop splatters all over it, and the pull-out couch had some strange “white” stains. The A/C kept switching on and off every minute, which repeatedly interrupted a good night's sleep. It’s a Holiday Inn, so don’t expect much.

The breakfast was a great hot one, and we were very close to VT. The place was clean and updated, with big rooms and really comfortable beds, pillows, and comforters. The service people were very helpful.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely arranged, and everyone on staff was welcoming. The area isn’t the nicest yet, though the new neighborhood development nearby is helping it feel better than before. I had a very good stay, just what I expected, with no complaints. I’d be glad to come back.
