Residence Inn Blacksburg University

The rooms were immaculately clean, the kids had fun in the pool, and all the staff were welcoming. At breakfast, the staff kept working to tidy the area and refill the food. We had such a good experience that we booked here, then rebooked, even though it meant a slight detour off the main highway. My only small gripe was that our room had no microwave. I did see one downstairs in the breakfast area. This has been our best Hyatt experience so far!

The place itself was wonderful, but the customer service was terrible. I left my keys behind and spoke with Matt several times. He said he'd ship them ASAP, but after three days they were still at the hotel. Apparently he never left the note he promised to leave. I explained that I needed the keys because a storm was coming, and I still haven't received them. This has been really frustrating. I'll update with how long it takes to get them.

On a busy college weekend there wasn't enough seating at breakfast, which was my only complaint. The selection was really good: eggs, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, and cereal. There's a bar and coffee in the lobby too. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms clean and well outfitted, and there was plenty of nearby parking. The hotel is very close to the VTech campus and lots of places to eat, so we walked pretty much everywhere we needed to go.

We had a spacious, very clean king suite, room 602, with a nice layout. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful, at both the front desk and the bar.
