Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious, with a good-sized bedroom, balcony, and a kitchen stocked with just about everything. It was very clean and well maintained, and we were comfortable even with construction going on. Birch Bay is right on the waterfront, and there’s a well-kept path at the property where you can walk 2-3 miles along the water. Other parks and trails are nearby too. The walks around here are mostly flat, though, with very little elevation gain. I thought the stay was great value for what I paid. I’d happily recommend it and stay again if I’m in the area.

We drove to Mt Baker and had a treat of a day, with lots of waterfalls, views, and hikes. Back at WorldMark Birch Bay, it was easy to slow down: the bay path starts right in front of the resort and is lovely for a quiet stroll. It’s scenic and peaceful, though there isn’t much entertainment or activity close by, so expect a calm getaway rather than a lively destination. Our room felt fresh and was clean and comfortable, with some of the resort’s remodeling and updates showing. The construction didn’t bother us. Staff were welcoming and helpful. WorldMark Birch Bay is a good fit if you want a quiet, comfortable place to relax, with beautiful bay views and a resort that’s being nicely updated.

The heated pool was awesome, and Zachary was friendly and quick to help whenever I had a question or needed something. We had a great time here.

We were told we’d been registered for the resort’s live presentation without anyone asking about our schedule or plans. After we declined, the calls to our room kept coming, and they wouldn’t accept no. They also withheld the WiFi codes, making access depend on attending. We went a whole week without WiFi, which was wildly inconvenient and felt like the stone ages. This is no way to persuade a Discovery Member to take on a longer-term membership. There weren’t smart TVs either, so we couldn’t wind down at night with our favorite shows. Even if there had been one, we couldn’t have used it without WiFi. I felt much more relaxed at an AirBnb with no services, where the phone didn’t ring day in and day out and I had normal access to the world online. I won’t stay here again.

The gift shop was cute, and having a stove and BBQ in the studio was great. There’s no oven, though, and no A/C. It happened to be cool the week we went. The pool area was cool but very dirty. We adults were kicked out right at 10 pm, which was a bummer, though I understand rules are rules.
