I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. The room was noisy, with banging and slamming from the front door downstairs and inside the room. People kept going in and out, and alarms went off every five minutes. The pillowcases were dirty, the furniture needs replacing, and the blanket was so thin it couldn’t keep me warm with the AC running all night. The charger outlet on the bunk didn’t work, either. Communication with the owner was poor. I wasn’t told ahead of time that they only accepted card payments, not cash. They asked for my travel itinerary or ID, but when I brought this up, the owner just repeated the building access information and codes, which he had already sent late. A man came into the room while I was reading and turned off the light with other people still there. I used my phone light, and he huffed and paced back and forth, repeatedly going to the bathroom and closet. He then argued with someone who had a personal fan. That person apologized and said I’d turned off the AC above the bed I was sleeping in, but I hadn’t touched it. The man seemed to be on recreational drugs and had them with him, which may be why he kept returning to the closet. During the night he got into bed and turned the AC up. Since I was on the top bunk with the unit right beneath me, I was freezing. I turned it off twice, and he switched it straight back on. When I contacted the owner, he said, “it’s shared room,” as if that excused the behavior. He suggested I approach the man, which was ridiculous. I’m a petite woman, and he was twice my height and weight. After watching him be rude and passive aggressive with others, I wasn’t taking chances. If I were assaulted, I’d call 911. It was the owner’s job to defuse the situation, not push it onto a customer. There was also someone in the room who seemed unstable, tossing and turning, making strange disturbing noises, and pretending to sleep. The cleaner seemed unwelcoming and wasn’t in the best mood. While making a bed, she had her shoes on the bed we were meant to sleep in.

The hostel was clean and in a good spot for visiting tourist attractions, and the price was good. We could park free on the street if we followed the signs and rules, or pay $10 a night to park right outside. The kitchen was equipped, and we even had a refrigerator in our room. The one thing that bothered us was having just one bathroom on the floor, which meant a long wait to use it.

The location was the only good part of this hostel. I knew it was cheap, but still expected somewhere clean and safe. I felt very insecure after the woman in the bed next to mine took photos of me without permission. I told the manager, but he didn’t help. He asked her if she’d taken a picture, and she said no. I knew that wasn’t true. When I returned to the room, she loudly said someone wanted to get in trouble. I’d never spoken to her, and it was frightening. I paid for five nights but could only stay one. If you’re traveling alone, I really recommend staying somewhere else. Please be safe.

I booked two weeks ahead and saw a confirmation screen, but no confirmation email ever arrived. I contacted them and got no reply. Reviews said missing confirmations were normal and that you should call when you arrived, so I went to the hostel and called. They said there was no reservation and wouldn’t let me stay that night. I ended up spending $200 on a motel.

This feels more like a long-term residence than a hostel for travelers. I didn’t get the access email until I complained to Agoda, and there was no staff around except a cleaner. The residents weren’t very welcoming, though one guy did greet me. I got a thin pillow and just one blanket. Roommates were inconsiderate about the bathroom, and one girl took over 45 minutes in the shower. Thankfully, someone told me about the bathroom by the kitchen. I felt awkward, like I was intruding in their home.
