Avonlea

The staff are a cut above, and our room had an ocean view and a jet tub. My wife and I spent a weekend at The Avonlea and both thought the experience was incomparable. It’s in a great location, and I especially recommend it in the off season.

Suku made us fresh breakfast every morning, with eggs, home fries, and fruit, and coffee and tea were always there whenever we wanted them. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was perfect. Sabrina was magnificent, welcoming us warmly and staying attentive and responsive in real time. We’d planned to come for a Sunday wedding, but the storm meant we had to stay from Saturday through Wednesday. Having such a comfortable hotel made the hurricane outside feel less bleak. When we’re back on Block Island, I know this is where I’ll stay. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for everything!

Sabrina, the on-site hostess, was a real five-star asset: warm, friendly, helpful, and beautiful. The breakfast buffet was incredible, and the generous happy hour spread came every afternoon. Our spacious Diamond room on the first floor was convenient, with lovely breezes and ocean views. We had a fabulous stay at the oceanfront Avonlea B&B on Block Island, R.I., a restored historic home with 10 cozy bedroom suites. Great location. Book here for an extraordinary experience!

The breakfasts and happy hours were great, and the service was amazing. You feel right at home here. It was our first time on Block Island, and I can’t picture staying anywhere else. The location is hard to beat, right on the beach, with a private lounge area overlooking the water.
