New Shoreham House Inn

Room 3 was clean and just right for our short stay, with the ocean and ferry dock visible from the window. The rooftop deck is right next to it, too. The hotel is directly across from the ferry drop-off. The portable AC unit they put in the room kept it very cool, which was great.

Room #15 had everything we needed for a few nights while we were on the island for a wedding. It was clean, beautiful, and central, with a lovely deck where you can watch the ferry come in. Looking out at the ferry and sea was a joy. The stairs up to the higher floors are quite steep, so they could be tough for someone with mobility trouble. The ferry lights are bright at night, even though the shades work well, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to light. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

I slept well here and was satisfied with what we paid. The room had a queen-sized bed, no AC, just a fan, and a balcony that's great for relaxing and watching the boats. It's close to everything, the shower was hot, and the service was good when I asked for extra soap. I'd never stayed somewhere with a bathroom shared by other people, and I thought that would bother me more than it did. People seemed respectful.

The sunrise and view from our room were amazing, and the deck was great for people-watching. This place is right across from the ferry and near plenty of options for eating, drinking, and socializing. I stayed with a friend in room five for $129 a night before tax. The rooms are very small, with just one shared bathroom for the floor. I think there were at least six rooms up there. The bathroom was small too, and mostly worked, but I wasn't completely impressed. The heat ran the whole time with no way to control it, unless I missed the control, so the room stayed warm even with the window open and sleeping wasn't great. The walls are super thin, and we heard conversations and doors slamming all weekend. The young woman cleaning our floor was very nice and helpful. They provide an ice bucket, but the ice is in the main check-in building next door to the New Shoreham. I probably won't stay again, mainly because of the small room and shared bathroom. A couple of people told me the place was haunted, so it might be a fun experience for some.
