I've stayed at Seacrest several times, and it's fine for what I need, with reasonable prices. The place is cozy, clean, and well maintained, but it's an old building, so don't expect every modern convenience. Rooms are on the small side but work for one or two people. The white bedding and bathroom are clean, and the mattress is decent. My main issue is guests without cars who seem to think they're the only ones there, repeatedly letting the heavy wooden doors slam. That should be mentioned in a notice or on the check-in sheet.
I loved the boutique feel, and Joon and all the staff gave us stellar service. My family spent three nights between the cottage next to the inn and the inn itself. The vibe reminded me of the inn on Gilmore Girls. The cottage was a cute, cozy two-story loft with a kitchen, a master bedroom downstairs, a full bed upstairs, and a full bathroom. The kitchen had a coffee machine, full-sized sink, filtered-water faucet, microwave, plates, bowls, utensils, and fridge. I liked that the appliances had been renovated. My upstairs inn room had a full-sized bed, bathroom, TV, and decent-sized AC. The coded entrance was reassuring. The shower pressure was strong, and my skin even got better from the water at Block Island. Can't wait to come back!
Room 1 is right beside the main entrance off the road, so you can hear people coming and going through the night and morning, even though the road itself was quiet. The floors were very sandy, but the room was otherwise clean. We had a great time, and the bed was really comfortable; the linens and bathroom were clean too. Great location, an easy walk to everything. A good place to shower and rest between enjoying the island.
This was the most disgusting place I've ever stayed, and I've slept in hostels. There were bugs on my bed, and I was put in Room #1 with traffic noise from everyone coming and going. I thought I'd booked a king but got a full. I wish I'd known what to expect before paying nearly $1,000 for two nights. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I appreciate management's response below, but $656 for two nights felt close enough to $1,000 that I expected the rooms to be clean at the very least. I probably meant to book a queen and was surprised by the full, so that part was my mistake. When I called to ask about changing out of Room #1, I was harshly told the inn was booked all weekend, then hung up on. Management didn't ask if they could do anything else to make the stay more comfortable. Other reviews were right about mold, which was very present in the bathroom, especially the sink cabinet. By then, the bugs were the least of my concerns. I still wouldn't recommend this place on Block Island.
That old-school feel is part of the charm, and the location is perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room and bathroom were clean. We liked eating breakfast outside in front of the Inn, and the food was good. The coffee was great too. Still, no bagels, which was a real disappointment since I’d been looking forward to one. Local TV would be a nice addition. I hope we can stay again this coming year.
