The Blue Dory Inn

We stayed one night in Ocean Sonnet, which I think was the least expensive room. It was cozy but had enough room for the two of us, and the bed was comfortable. We could hear the waves through the cracked skylight as we fell asleep. The inn is right by the ferry and downtown, everything was clean, and the staff were a joy to talk with. Breakfast was freshly made, included in the room price, and delicious. I also appreciated that whenever a guest praised the food, the manager gave the credit to the housekeeper and cook, saying, “Thank you! She does a great job.” There are lots of thoughtful touches: free beach towels and chairs, wine and cheese hour, and permission to leave our bags after checkout since our ferry wasn't until later that night. At check-in, the resident ginger cat was a sweet surprise. He was incredibly friendly and sprawled across both my husband's and my laps while we waited on the couch. Don't hesitate to book here!

We first stayed at the Blue Dory 35 years ago and have returned quite a few times since. We were there again in Oct 2025, and it's still as great as ever!

The private cottage was just right, and the staff made us feel at home. Blue Dory Inn is so cozy and perfectly located. We absolutely plan to come back, and are already looking forward to it!

We were taken in on short notice and given a wonderful room. Breakfast was freshly made that morning and served in the tea room, and the staff were incredibly helpful. There's also a separate fridge for guests, which kept our beach-cooler ice packs cold. Don't miss out, and book early.
