Best Western Plus Bloomington East Hotel

My sheets were an issue when I first checked in, but I called the front desk and V came up to sort it out right away. V was really helpful and personable, and I had a great experience.

I spent multiple weeks at a time here on a business trip. The price I was able to negotiate with the GM made the good breakfast and service an even better deal. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget stopping in Bloomington/Normal.

We booked for one night while visiting ISU with my son, but the room smelled overwhelmingly like an ashtray despite the hotel's claim to be 100% smoke free. We could barely breathe, so I immediately asked the front desk for another room. They said no and sent someone to spray it instead. The spray smelled nice but was very strong, making it even harder to breathe. It was like an ashtray filled with potpourri. My son and I could barely stay in the room, so we canceled the tour and went home. On the way to the front desk, a worker offered us another room, but by then the tour was canceled. If they'd offered it when I first asked, we might have stayed. I paid $140 for about 10 minutes in the room because the reservation was nonrefundable. I gave them the second star only because they eventually offered another room, too late.

Most elevators test my patience: 30 seconds to arrive, 30 for the doors to open, 30 to close, 30 to reach my floor, then another 30 for the doors to open. This Best Western's elevator must be the fastest in the universe. I'm impatient, and that alone deserves five stars.
