Hampton Inn Bloomington West

Andrea deserves a shout-out for making everything go well. It was our first time at this location, and we came away with a very good impression. The property and our modern room were clean, and there are security cameras in the hallways. We used the pool and exercise room, and the continental breakfast was above average, with different coffee roasts, baked goods, eggs, and sausage. We'd happily recommend the place and return.

Update: The hotel contacted me today and said the pet fees would be refunded to my account. We had a pleasant conversation, and I got the impression they'd make a reasonable effort to address concerns. They won me back, and I'll return with the grandkids. The pool was great when it was -1 outside, and the kids loved it. The room was clean enough, though the bathroom had some rust and mold, and the bright exterior lights came through the inadequate shades. Breakfast was the usual limited quick menu, but somehow they ran out of apples and bananas for the weekend. The pet charges were the biggest issue: $148 added for traveling with a pet, plus another $50 fee at check-in. I don't know why that extra $50 was charged. After driving 700 miles with few other options, I stayed, though it crossed my mind that I should've hidden the pet until they found out. That's not how I was raised. Before the refund update, I wouldn't have stayed again. The pet fees felt outrageous, and running out of basic breakfast fruit was almost comical.

The heat pump kept the room warm through winter without much noise. It was clean, hot water came right away, and despite being near the freeway, I heard little to no traffic or public safety sirens.

The staff were nice, the coffee was good, and breakfast was the standard Hilton hot breakfast, which suited me perfectly. Overall, the hotel was adequate. I sleep lightly and could hear doors slamming across the hotel, which seems unusual for a Hilton property. The treadmills were out of service.
