Hampton Inn Minneapolis Bloomington West

The room was nice and clean, and we enjoyed our two nights here. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I especially liked having complimentary hot tea and coffee. Breakfast was good too. We'd definitely stay again if we're ever in Minneapolis.

The pool is very clean, but something about the water seemed off. It burned our eyes, and the kids coughed after accidentally swallowing some. Even sitting outside the pool, my eyes watered from what was evaporating. I'm not sure what was in the water, only that it seemed like there was too much of something. The rooms were very clean, the water was always warm, and breakfast was delicious with something for everyone.

I'm 54, for context, and this is the most professional hotel I've ever stayed in. I had a special circumstance, and the staff went well beyond their duties to help me. I'll always recommend this place. Thanks again, R Helms.

The price seemed reasonable for a big-city area, with shopping, food, and gas within 15-20 minutes. We came to Minnesota for the State Fair and Mall of America and arrived late. The front desk member was welcoming and had great customer service, and the few other staff we spoke with were kind too. Staff experience was 10/10 for us. Our room was clean and pleasant, the AC worked great, and we liked the smart TV with popular streaming apps that automatically sign you out after checkout. The bed was hard as a rock, though. By the third night our backs, hips, and shoulders were stiff, and we couldn't sleep comfortably. The shower was hot, and the towels were a little rough but still dried us. There's an ice machine by the elevator, and the small snack shop near the desk lets you charge pop and candy to your room. There wasn't a vending machine. Room and convenience options: 8/10. We only tried breakfast the first morning. For a free hotel breakfast it wasn't bad, with toast, muffins, plain bagels, cereal, waffles, country potatoes, bacon, and egg and bacon bagel toppings. It was busy, some food had run out, and the counters and floor were messy. One employee was trying to refill things while lots of younger guests made the area noisy and untidy. We ate elsewhere the next two days. Breakfast: 6.8/10. The pool area was nice, if a little small, and both the pool and hot tub were clean and working. There were lots of unattended kids in them on the busy weekend. The chlorine smell made our eyes burn at first, though we got used to it after a few minutes. The hot tub was hot and its jets worked well, so we'd give the pool area 8.5/10. We'd stay here again if we return to Minnesota.
