The front desk person, who was also the owner, was rude and hard to deal with. I asked to have towels brought to the room and was told I had to come downstairs to get them. That wasn’t a huge deal by itself, but what happened to room service? They said late checkout was available, then denied it when we asked and rushed us to leave. The phone rang in our room multiple times, and the cleaners came in without waiting for us to answer the door. The customer service needs work. This was the worst hotel experience ever. There’s no way it should be called a Holiday Inn, it felt more like a Motel 6. I’ll make sure anyone I know coming to Bloomington IL hears about it.

The carpets look new, and the rooms are super clean, maybe they were recently remodeled. Breakfast is free, and the woman looking after that area was very nice. They only clean the rooms if you ask, which kind of stinks for the price. Good value overall.

A coordinator called in December to confirm our January reservation for 35 students attending an event at ISU, and was told the hotel had cancelled it because they no longer accepted checks. When the reservation was made in September, he’d been told he could pay by check upon arrival. The hotel made no effort to sort things out. Thankfully, he called to confirm, and we were able to book at a nearby hotel from another brand.

The room needed to be in better shape for the price. The AC controls were faulty, so there was no way to set the temperature properly. A previous guest had damaged the bathroom door. It still worked, but was in poor condition. The hair dryer was also tired and had rust on the blower grate, though it worked. The front desk staff were friendly and professional.

Feb 2026. It’s not a new property, but it has what you need. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the WiFi was good. Free parking and breakfast, plus coin laundry.
