Hyatt Place Bloomington

I've stayed here more than four times in the past six months. It's good value for downtown Bloomington, and the customer service is great. Malachi was especially helpful, storing our luggage after checkout while we waited to leave for the airport. The pool and gym are well maintained, and being on the B-line trail makes it an easy walk to the farmers market, switch yard park, and other downtown amenities.

The area was great, and the price was good. It's a newer hotel near everything downtown, but maintenance could use attention. Some doors slam shut so hard that we were woken up several times by other guests' doors. There were also problems with the parking garage gates, and a flashing light on the bedroom smoke detector kept showing through the night. Breakfast was great, but neither of us slept well. We really liked the location.

It's one of the best Hyatt locations I've stayed at. There are several restaurants and bars within walking distance, easy routes to nearby freeways, helpful professional staff, clean rooms, a good breakfast, and decent coffee. Our room door was a little stiff, and the shower didn't get as hot as I would've liked. Those issues seemed limited to room 417, since the others I was traveling with had no problems in their rooms.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk to Kirkwood and all of DT Bloomigton, with an on-site parking garage and a great continental breakfast. I'd recommend it for events at the Monroe/bloomington convention center. Just walk south along the bike trail.
