Quality Inn

The beds were clean and comfortable, though the metal frames squeaked. Pillows varied, some were firm and full, others thinner and softer. In the room, the floor was sticky and there were chocolate chip muffin crumbs on the toilet, bathroom floor, and beside the bed. We arrived late, so I wiped it up myself with a wet towel. Breakfast was so-so. The waffle and yogurt were the best parts. The sausage patties and waffles were typical, but the hash browns were cold and completely white, with no crispy edges. Even though the coffee was made cup by cup, it tasted burned. We’ll stay somewhere else next time we’re in town.

The hot breakfast was nice, and check-in was easy and friendly. The rooms were clean and looked recently updated. It’s right off the exit, so getting back on the road the next morning was simple. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

The pool was the reason we booked, since we live nearby and our five-year-old wanted to swim for Christmas. Before booking, we called to ask if the pool and hot tub were working, and staff assured us they were. But after check-in, the pool felt like an ice bath, nowhere near room temperature, and was painful and impossible to swim in. I’m guessing it was around 50 degrees. We soaked in the hot tub, which was hot, then went home without staying in the room because a morning swim was out of the question. Our kid was very disappointed, and so were we. We wasted $130. The employees on the phone and at check-in were also extremely hard to understand.

Julie deserves a shout-out. She’s kind, always ready to help, got us checked in quickly, and keeps the breakfast area clean and well stocked. We especially enjoy the quiet, peaceful balcony view whenever we stay at this Quality Inn in Bloomington. We’ll keep coming back when we’re in the area.
