Coronado Island Inn

The room was a good size and tidy, and the staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I'd book here again, especially since the price worked for my budget given the location. I rated the location three only because of street noise, though I knew it might be an issue when I booked.

Being able to walk everywhere was the best part for us. Beyond that, the stay was frustrating. The chair had been assembled incorrectly, and I fell a couple of times before getting down to inspect its legs. A light fixture was coming loose from the ceiling, we only had three towels for two people over three nights, and the room had other issues. Check-in was a mess. I used the link they sent, but some of the form questions didn't make sense to me. The bot's replies weren't useful, and although I entered payment details, they didn't transfer into the system. They first blamed Expedia, then said they were still learning a new system. The office was across the intersection, and although we were told we could get coffee or towels there anytime, there was no phone to call the front desk. Having to cross two crosswalks for towels took far too long. At noon when we arrived, four people were waiting to get in. It seemed understaffed, and the staff may have been underappreciated and undertrained. The location worked for us, but that was about it.

My wife and I came to see my brother and his wife, who spend summers in Coronado. We stayed in a spacious one-bedroom room with great amenities and a good location. There's a barbecue area by the swimming pool, and the hotel provides bikes. The community is great for walking, running, and cycling.

Everything went well for our short visit, and the staff we spoke with were all appreciated. Just watch your footing on the short landing upstairs if you're in room 106.
