Residence Inn Bloomington by Mall of America

The rooms and service were great, and it's a really nice hotel. Just know that the restaurant and bar it advertises are across the parking lot. They're fairly close, but not actually in the hotel.

The staff are nice, but the breakfast area was so uncomfortable in summer that we couldn't even get food. They had the heat on in there. The rooms are really dated, and the price feels too high when nothing has been updated in 30 years. The A/C units don't seem maintained or have their filters changed. Ours stopped working, and a guy took out a filter that was two inches thick with nastiness.

The price was reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a decent range of choices, and it was quiet, clean, and comfortable, especially the beds. The property is definitely older, though. The rooms are dated and could use minor renovations.

We’ve stayed for a week at a time and are already looking forward to coming back. The breakfast each morning was phenomenal, with hot and cold food, drinks, fruit, pastries, and something for every kind of breakfast eater. The suites felt like little apartments, and both styles we’ve tried were pristinely clean and set up well. There was room to unpack and live comfortably, with a large queen bed, lots of closet and drawer space, a spacious living room with an L-shaped couch, and a big work table for my husband and all his work things. The TV was huge and the channel choices were good. The kitchen had pretty much everything in a full kitchen: stove, oven, full-size fridge and freezer, microwave, dishwasher (whose name wasn't Kimberly! LoL!), dishes, silverware, and a range of pots and pans. There was also a cute table for two. I liked that the sink and mirror were separate from the shower and toilet. All wives can appreciate that! My husband and I have stayed in two different styles of rooms so far, and both were cozy and comfortable.
