This was emergency housing during a vulnerable period in my life, not a recreational stay, so having a clean, healthy place and responsive staff mattered a lot. I tried repeatedly to work with the hotel and asked for a smoke free, healthier room after the problems I’d already faced. Instead, I left feeling unheard and uncomfortable, as though maintenance and environmental concerns were treated as room assignment issues rather than properly addressed. In my first room, there was what looked like blood across the ceiling, a needle in a drawer, visible water damage, and a strong odor like something had died. The toilet ran constantly, clogged easily, and overflowed, raising sanitation and ongoing moisture concerns. Over time I worried more about possible mold and air quality. After I became physically ill with severe sinus pressure, headaches, respiratory irritation, and spent days mostly unable to get out of bed, I asked to move. The replacement room felt only marginally better and didn’t seem like an adequate solution. I later found two roaches. At minimum, I felt they should have moved me to a better room or covered my ER bill. There was also a loud alarm at one point that sounded as if it was coming from inside the room. Later, I noticed cigarette smoke odor and got inconsistent information about room availability. Given everything that had happened, I would have expected management to take health complaints more seriously. I’d urge them to improve room inspections, investigate moisture and air quality thoroughly, and respond to guest health issues with more urgency and care. I would not stay here again under similar conditions. 1/5.

They changed my reservation and took $120 from me, plus another $90. One room flooded. The other was disgusting, with mold and cigarette butts, and it always smelled like people were smoking. There were stains and trash in the hallways. My friend works for Choice, and now the manager is never available. Respond ASAP or I’ll contact my attorney.

The rooms had holes in the walls, broken lamps, a taped up mirror, and questionable looking beds and sheets. The bathroom was only vaguely clean, and I wasn’t sure the towels were clean either. The place felt like a mess, and it seemed like something had been tampered with everywhere. They also took my charger, which I assume is gone for good. They wouldn’t let me check in early, saying the rooms still needed cleaning, but the room I got clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. Then someone came in without warning at 10:40 am, before checkout. I was sick and still am, and I felt disrespected, mocked, and ignored. I want a refund and additional payment for the way they disregarded policy and my boundaries, and for the impact on my health.

The staff were very friendly, and since I used points, the room didn’t cost me anything. With my 5 AM flight, I also didn’t want the hassle of finding somewhere else. I was there for only five hours after the concer and visiting Mall of America, then headed to the airport. For that short stay, it was worth it, but the hotel itself was easily the worst low end place I’ve stayed. I usually try to avoid one star reviews. The room had a bad smell I couldn’t identify, which got stronger once I went inside. The floor felt grimy, the bathroom wasn’t clean, and there were very few towels. The windows were sealed shut, so I couldn’t get fresh air. The walls were torn up and unfinished from remodeling. The bed was uncomfortable, with the metal box spring easy to feel through the mattress, the pillows were flat, and the chair wasn’t usable. I didn’t raise these problems with the staff because I was only there briefly.
